Will wearing a hairpiece mean giving up on my own hair?

Yes and no! But not in the way that you think.

Out of the thousands of women with hair loss that I’ve connected with over the years, the majority embraced wearing wigs and toppers wholeheartedly and never looked back, myself included!

When I found wigs, I was at a place of total mental exhaustion over my hair, and I couldn’t even imagine one more instance of finding a possible cause and cure, only to try it and be disappointed again. I found wearing a wig to be such a relief, it gave me hope again that I could feel good about my hair. It gave me an instant solution to my problem- no, it isn’t my hair and never will be, but it’s as close as I’m going to get and that’s good enough for me. I was finally at a place of feeling excitement over my hair again, which is something I hadn’t felt in a long time.

I can confidently say that, yes, I’ve given up on my hair regrowing. Letting go of that has been a huge weight off my shoulders and has been very positive for me, it has allowed me and so many others to move on with life again.

I’m not saying we will all have the same experience with this, hair loss is a hugely personal journey and I know it affects us all in so many ways. Some choose to continue treatments, some wear hairpieces for a little while and decide it isn’t for them, there is no right or wrong way to feel about it!
