Taking good care of your topper or wig is by far most important thing to educate yourself on before/after purchase. Good care will ensure your piece lasts as long as possible and is properly hydrated throughout its life.

Washing

How often you wear your piece will determine how long you should go between washes. For everyday wear wash around every three weeks. Wash in luke warm water. Gently spread a sulfate free shampoo through the piece and avoid scrubbing.

Lightly work it through the hair and be gentle to avoid tangling and then rinse out thoroughly. When rinsing run the tap over the piece and keep moving the hair around for a few minutes, take your time and make sure all product is washed out. Un-rinsed product can cause build up in the hair, this will feel tacky greasy and you'll have to re-wash. Using the same shampoo, you can also lightly wash the inside cap if necessary.

I recommend a conditioning treatment for every wash. This will keep your piece looking super shiny and prolong its life! Conditioning treatments are really important as they replenish moisture that is missing from your hairpiece, as there is no scalp to provide that hydration naturally. When conditioning, spread through the mids and ends of the piece and leave to sit in the conditioner outside of water, on a clean surface for 1-5 hours before thoroughly rinsing for a few minutes. Do not apply conditioner to the top of the piece or anywhere near the hand knotting (silk top or lace top) as this will loosen the knots and cause premature shedding. 

For wigs, it’s important to blow dry the inside cap after washing and before leaving to dry otherwise your cap may stretch slightly with each wash.

Everyday care

Work a small amount of hair oil into the hair every couple of days, this will keep the hair looking super shiny and will also keep it from drying out between washes.

This is a human hair piece so you can use heat tools; just use a low heat setting and heat protection spray and you‘re good to go. If you’re securing your piece to a block head for styling, bear in mind not to stick pins through the silk top as it is  delicate.

If you plan to colour the piece, take her to a trained stylist with experience colouring alternative hair. Virgin colours can be lightened however processed colours should not be lightened and only darkened as they have already been previously coloured.

If you are new to the world of wigs and toppers, bear in mind that your piece needs a little time and personalization to get used to. It’s normal to feel overwhelmed with the amount of hair when you’re trying for the first time!

If you chose to have your topper or wig custom cut (length, layers, bangs etc) prior to shipping, your item is not eligible for a refund.

If you would like to return your item, you must notify me at wildflowerhair1@gmail.com within 14 days of receipt. You then have a further 14 days to ship your item back. 

Original shipping costs are non refundable and a 5% deduction is applied to topper and wig returns. This covers the non refundable sales fee for your order and the sanitization of the piece after your try on. Toppers and wigs come onto direct contact with the scalp and if not properly sanitized can transmit scalp infections to the next wearer, this is particularly harmful for those with autoimmune illnesses. For this reason Wildflower must adhere to strict regulations for hygiene reasons, and the fee allows us to keep a return policy in place.

If you would like to exchange the value of your topper to another stock piece or full value store credit (that doesn’t expire) the 5% fee will be waived one time only.

To receive a refund, the piece must not be altered in any way.  You must return the topper/ wig in the exact same condition as it was received (including the box and all other components). This includes: (but not limited to) not washing, changing the part, using heat tools, cutting, using hair products or using dyes. 

If your piece has a lace front, do not cut the lace until you’re certain that you are keeping it, if lace is cut, the item is no longer eligible for a refund.

Do not alter the base in any way. Do not alter or remove the clips or wig comb.

You must ensure the piece is packaged in its protective dust bag with all clips closed. Do not fold the base of the topper/ wig in half as this will damage the cap and a return will not be granted.

The customer is responsible for any return postage, and a trackable service is strongly recommended to ensure that the package arrives safely. Wildflower Hair cannot be responsible for any returns that go missing. The customer will be required to open a claim with the shipping courier for their loss should a package go missing, for this reason it is recommend to insure the item for the full value.

It is helpful if you provide me with tracking details so I can track the parcels delivery date, this may speed up my receipt of the item and your receipt of a refund.

If posting back a return from outside of the UK, your customs declaration must be marked ‘returned goods’ or ‘return to sender’ in the relevant section. This is to ensure Wildflower is not charged customs duties for your return. If Wildflower is contacted prior to delivery to pay customs duties, the parcel will be rejected and shipped back to you.

Any customs duties that are charged on the parcel after receipt due to incorrectly declaring the parcel will be deducted from your refund.

Once the return has arrived, please allow 3 working days for your return to be processed. Once processed, you will receive a confirmation email of your return. Refunds can take between 5-15 business days to be returned to your bank account depending on your country/ card processor.

For UK residents, 20% VAT will be added onto this item at the checkout. Many wig and topper wearers are entitled to VAT exemption, and are therefore not liable to pay VAT.

VAT exemption is available to customers in the UK who wear wigs and hairpieces for ‘necessity reasons’.  These apply to customers who require wigs or hairpieces due to alopecia, hair loss as a result of chemotherapy treatment or any other medical condition that causes hair loss, where a GP confirms in writing that the customer is a ‘necessity wearer’.
